The Wisconsin Badgers football team plays at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison, Wisconsin. They compete in NCAA football's Big Ten Conference. The team's history dates to the late 1800s and has developed a number of rivalries over the years. The Badgers have enjoyed some success through their history, and has had several bowl games and Hall of Fame players.

Established in 1889, the Wisconsin Badgers are one of the oldest football teams in the United States. In its first year, the team played two games, loosing both. As the season began in 2009, the team had an overall record of 604 wins, 462 losses and 53 ties.

Wisconsin and Minnesota have the longest-running rivalry in Division 1-A football history. In 1890, the teams met for the first time, resulting in a 63-0 win for Minnesota. Every year, the team plays for a trophy, "Paul Bunyan's Axe."

With seven players inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame as of 2009, the Wisconsin Badgers team members are strong contenders through history. One of the most notable inductees is Alan "The Horse" Ameche, winner of the 1954 Heisman Trophy.

As of 2008, the Wisconsin Badgers attended 20 bowl games, including six Rose Bowls. The record for the team is evenly split with 10 wins and 10 losses.

The largest margin of victory for the Wisconsin Badgers in a football game occurred shortly after the team's creation. On Nov. 1, 1890, the team won 106-0 against University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
