Everyone uses isopropyl alcohol to clean scrapes, but there are many uncommon uses for this common household item that can save you time and money.

    Mirrors

  1. Isopropyl alcohol works great at removing any sticky residue, such as hair spray, from mirrors or glass.
  2. Windshields

  3. If the winter cold has frosted over your car's windshield, a spray of isopropyl alcohol will let you easily wipe the ice off.
  4. Permanent Marker

  5. Permanent marker on a hard countertop may seem impossible to remove, but isopropyl alcohol will dissolve the marker and let you wipe it away.
  6. Ice Pack

  7. Mixing one part isopropyl alcohol with three parts water in a plastic bag, then freezing, will create a cheap ice pack to keep lunches cold or soothe an achy knee.
  8. CD/DVDs

  9. Smudged discs are a pain to play without skipping, but wiping your CDs or DVDs with isopropyl alcohol will remove stains and smudges without harming data.
