Percocet Abuse Symptoms

Percocet is a combination of oxycodone and acetaminophen. They are combined so the acetaminophen increases the painkilling effect of the oxycodone. Percocet is highly addictive and should only be taken under a doctor's supervision.

  1. Percocet Abuse

    • Percocet abuse is defined as taking the drug in any variation from doctor's orders. This might include taking it too often or in larger doses than prescribed.

    Signs Of Percocet Abuse

    • Percocet is made to be taken orally in pill form. Any other form such as chewing, crushing and snorting, or taking the powder form orally to get in the bloodstream quicker, is a sign of abuse.

    Drug Interactions With Percocet

    • Percocet might often be combined with other drugs for addictive effects. Some of these include alcohol, tranquilizers, other painkillers and sedatives.

    Percocet Overdose

    • The person taking percocet might be drowsy, have respiratory depression or a slow respiration rate, become comatose, have hypertension or circulatory collapse, or suffer cardiac arrest.

    Solution For Percocet Abuse

    • A person can become addicted to percocet after only two to three weeks of use. Recovery might require treatment from a drug counselor or might require treatment at a residential alcohol and drug treatment center.
