Information on a Brother P-Touch 1280 Label Maker

The Brother P-Touch personal label maker series provides portability and functions to create labels using a variety of tapes and font effects. The P-Touch series is commercially available as hand-held or desktop devices for home or office. The 1280 model is designed with full functions of a self-contained label printer with advanced options.

Device Information

The P-Touch 1280 weighs about one pound and is 6.4-inches-wide by 6.0-inches-deep, providing a desktop unit with an easy to read keyboard and function keys.

Power

The P-Touch 1280 uses six AAA-size alkaline or rechargeable batteries. An optional AC power supply can be purchased for the unit (model AD-30), to be used with the AAA batteries as backup.

Characters

Up to 80 characters can be typed on the label. The LCD panel will display a single row of 15 characters.

Tape Cartridges

The P-Touch 1280 uses the Brother TZ tape and can accommodate widths of 3.5 mm (9/64 inch), 6 mm (1/4 inch), 9 mm (3/8 inch) and 12 mm (1/2 inch).

Special Features

The P-Touch series can generate labels containing multiple lines, type styles, font sizes, character spacing, vertical printing and mirrored text. Graphic elements such as symbols and frames can be selected as special functions.
