Signs, Banners and Pictures
-
Use all the open space of the entryways and walls to hang banners and signs. Create your favorite New Year's scenes, pictures and moments and get your guests to look up and around as they enter your home and walk through your house.
Lights
-
Turn off all indoor lights and lamps and string lights shaped like stars or balloons throughout the house. Add them to every room, bathroom, the kitchen and dining room. Line your outside walkway with lights on poles and lanterns as well. Light up the entire home and outside with hundreds of strings of lights and candles.

New Year's Resolution Wall
-
Hang large sheets of poster board on open wall space and have pens and markers available for your guests as they arrive to write their New Year's Resolutions or anything they like on the poster boards throughout the house.
Disposable Cameras
-
Place numerous disposable cameras around the house, on the dining room table, in the bathrooms, on the front porch, and out on the back patio as well. Allow guests to take pictures throughout the evening from their point of view and never miss a moment of the party. Their own personal photographs will make it a New Year's to remember for everyone.
Noise Makers
-
Not only decorate your table in a theme that you have chosen for the evening, but give your guests toys and games to play with throughout dinner. Blowers, boppers, hats, noise makers, and even costume pieces to dress up in, like eyeglasses with the current year on them, can be enjoyed during the countdown to the New Year.
