Epcot Center Facts

Epcot Theme Park, formerly known as Epcot Center, is part of Disney World in Orlando, Florida. It was the second addition to Disney World, built after Magic Kingdom in 1982.

  1. Spaceship Earth

    • The giant silver-colored, dimpled dome that has become the icon of this park is called Spaceship Earth. The dome is not only an icon that welcomes you to the park but is a ride that chronicles the evolution of technology.

    Future World

    • Epcot is divided into two worlds, with Future World being the first world guests encounter. This area showcases innovation and technology. Future World is home to the fastest ride in the Disney World Resort.

    World Showcase

    • The World Showcase is the second world in Epcot. It features 11 pavilions, each with a different country of the world. The pavilions mostly contain restaurants and shops related to these countries.

    Cost

    • Disney has a complicated ticketing system it claims is designed to give you options. Prices tend to go up every year. This makes it difficult to give an exact price, but plan on paying a minimum of $80 as of August 2009.

    Tours

    • Disney offers several ways to tour the park, including by foot, Segway and boat. These tours give "behind the scenes" looks at park operations.
