Dart Board Regulations
If you want to become a great dart thrower, knowing the proper way a dartboard should be displayed is essential. By following a few simple guidelines, you'll be on your way to practicing like a pro.
-
Material
-
Dartboards that are considered tournament quality are made of natural rope fiber. The fibers are banded with steel after being compressed under heavy pressure.
Height
-
The height must be five feet, eight inches from the floor to the center of the bull's-eye.
Distance
-
The distance from the throwing line to the front of the dartboard is seven feet, nine and one-quarter inches.
Mounting
-
The board must be flush to the wall. It cannot be leaning and the number 20 must be at the top.
Measurements
-
Standard measurements are 18 inches in diameter. The board has 30 numbered segments of equal size, with a bull's-eye in the center. The segments have a double ring on the outside and a triple ring on the interior. The bull's-eye consists of an outer ring, known as the outerbull area or single bull. This area is worth 25 points. The inner ring, known as the inner bull or double bull's-eye, is worth 50 points.
