Herbs to Cure Uterine Fibroids

Fibroids are tumors that occur most commonly in pre-menopausal women. They result from imbalances in estrogen and other hormones. There are a number of herbs that are widely used to formulate folk remedies to cure fibroids.

Evening Primrose oil

This herbal oil is rich in anti-inflammatory compounds called essential fatty acids that help cure fibroids by alleviating the inflammation and pain caused by fibroids.

Horsetail

An herbal infusion of horsetail is used to alleviate the symptoms of fibroids by flushing the liver of toxins. The liver is responsible for breaking down excess estrogen, which helps to relieve the symptoms.

Goldenseal

The use of goldenseal in herbal remedies to treat fibroids also dates back for centuries. A biological component of this herb called alkaloid berberine reverses and prevents the development of fibroids in the uterine wall.

Red Clover

Red clover contains high levels of phytoestrogens, which are beneficial in the treatment of fibroids. Phytoestrogegns are plant compounds with a similar chemical structure as estrogen. (See Resources for more information)

Wormseed

Another herb that is used as a remedy for fibroids is wormseed. To make the tea, the wormseed herb is dried and then steeped in hot water.
