According to the book "The Job Coach for Young Professionals," individuals who are trying to progress in their career often seek the help of a job coach. A job coach is a professional who works with people to determine what career path is suitable for them. A job coach has many duties but some of the most prominent ones are conducting career assessments, offering tips and preparing a person for the work world.

  • Most job coaches have human resources experience and understand what is necessary to have a successful career. Many have a counseling background, recruiting experience or advanced degrees in business. They are able to use insider knowledge and education to develop strategies for career entry, change and prosperity.
