General Features
-
The 360 and PS3 versions of the game feature advanced shading, shadowing, lighting effects and textures that make Resident Evil 5 a visually impressive video game.
Shadowing
-
Not only are shadows in the PlayStation 3 version of the game not cast as heavily as in the 360 version, the shadows in the PS3 version run in a lower precision mode than the Xbox 360 version. This gives the Xbox 360 version of the game an edge in shadowing.

Textures and Shading
-
Compared with the PS3 version of the game, the 360's textures are more detailed and have more complex shading. The sharpness of the textures is also higher for the 360, giving the 360 an edge in textures as well.
Volume
-
Certain effects, in particular effects such as smoke, have more volume and detail on the 360 version.
Visual Effects
-
Some visual effects such as heat haze are missing from the PS3 version, and dust particles and character self-shading effects are less robust than on the 360.
High Definition and Final Verdict
-
The 360 version can run in 1080p, but the PS3 version is limited to 720p, giving the 360 version an overall graphical superiority over its PS3 counterpart.
