The Sidekick Slide is a text messaging centric cellular phone. It is manufactured by Motorola and service on it is available through T-Mobile USA.

    Form Factor

  1. At 4.6 inches wide by 2.6 inches high by 0.6 inch deep, the Slide is small enough to fit comfortably into a pocket or small purse. The Slide is also relatively light, weighing only 5.3 ounces.
  2. Design

  3. The Slide features a 2.5-inch slide-up screen. When in the "up" position, the large and spacious QWERTY keyboard is revealed. The ergonomics are quite good and the soft-touch material across the back of the phone ensures that the user maintains a firm grip on the device.
  4. Chat Features

  5. The Slide comes with the major chat applications installed (AIM, Yahoo Messenger, ICQ, and Windows Live). MMS and SMS messages are also supported.
  6. Multimedia

  7. The Sidekick Slide features a built in 1.3-megapixel camera. The Slide also functions as a music player and is compatible with MP3, WMA, and AAC formatted songs. A full web browser and email client are also included.
  8. Connectivity

  9. The SIdekick is fully Bluetooth-enabled for wireless syncing with your personal computer. It also supports the full gamut of available Bluetooth hands-free devices.
  10. Battery Life

  11. The Sidekick Slide has a rated battery life of up to 5 hours talk time. However, CNET labs was able to get nearly 10 hours of talk time on a single charge. Standby time is rated at 3 days.
