Jelly Belly is the industry leader in gourmet jellybeans with exotic flavors. The company even produces a "recipe" list to create special flavor combinations in your mouth such as peanut butter and jelly, tiramisu, mud pie and blueberry muffin. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. History

    • Herman Goelitz Candy Company began making gourmet jellybeans in 1976. The company soon changed its name to Jelly Belly.

    Gourmet Process

    • The goal of the new gourmet jellybean recipe was to create an intense flavor using natural ingredients.

    Original Flavors

    • The first Jelly Belly flavors were cream soda, tangerine, very cherry, lemon, root beer, green apple, licorice and grape.

    Famous Ties

    • President Ronald Reagan loved jellybeans and reportedly kept a jar of Jelly Belly jellybeans on his desk. The company developed the blueberry flavor so Regan could serve red, white and blue jellybeans at political events.

    Flavors

    • As of 2009, Jelly Belly produces over 50 flavors of jellybeans including chili mango, juicy pear, strawberry daiquiri and pink grapefruit.

    Jelly Belly's mascot, Mr. Jelly Belly is finally re-appearing on the packaging to Jelly Belly jellybeans and other candies from Jelly Belly with wrapper designs being re-done by June 30, 2011. In addition, Mr. Jelly Belly himself will appear in Jelly Belly commercials where viewers can hear him talk for the first-time ever, beginning in June 30, 2011. Jelly Belly's official jellybean flavor line is being extended up to about 100 flavors, the Jelly Belly Sours jellybean flavor line is bringing back additional five sour fruit flavors to the existing five with a total of 10 sour fruit flavors, and Jelly Belly is expanding their sugar-free jellybean flavor line up to about 20 original flavors and 5 sour fruit flavors together, requiring a total of over 145 flavors.     The Jelly Belly Candy Company will finally be extending their weird 'n' nasty Jelly Belly jellybean flavor line up to about 40, which may share appearances with over 40 standard Jelly Belly jellybean flavors that are all being contained in Jelly Belly's entire 80-flavor "BeanBoozled" line, either individual flavor gift boxes or as an entire assortment by any container. They will finally be available in all of its fine retailers anywhere nationwide around July 11, 2011. The 40 weird 'n' nasty jellybean flavors that are being contained in Jelly Belly's "BeanBoozled" assortment includes Centipede, Baby Wipes, Black Pepper, Vomit, Canned Dog Food, Shampoo, Toothpaste, Red Blood, Barf, Ear Wax, Rotten Egg, Moldy Cheese, Skunk Spray, Booger, Pencil Shavings, and many others.

    Jelly Belly's all-new "Hot 'n' Spicy Mix" jelly beans, which includes the Jalapeno, Tabasco, Fiery Garlic, Hot Tamale, Chili Mango, Black Bean, Cayenne, Habanero and Sweet 'n' Spicy Sauce flavors, will be introduced around July 11, 2011.
