  1. Identification

    • The poison arrow frog is known for its bright color patterns and relatively tiny size. Color patterns for these frogs are specific to the region in which the frog resides, and they come in nearly any color of the rainbow.

    Geography

    • These frogs thrive in the tropical and terrestrial areas of South and Central America. However, they can also be found in Hawaii due to their introduction to the area in 1932.

    Natural Habitat

    • Poison dart frogs are commonly found on the floors of the rain forest, concentrated in areas with a source of flowing or stagnant water.

    Aquariums

    • Two or three frogs can coexist well in a 10-gallon aquarium. In captivity, poison dart frogs can survive for up to 10 years if their habitat is properly maintained.

    As Pets

    • The habitat aquarium should be kept moisturized using a spray mister several times a day. It should have two or three hiding spots, as well as plants and a source of water, preferably with an air rock. It's also very important to provide the frogs with a steady source of insects.
