Puggles are a very popular crossbreed of a beagle and pug that have become increasingly popular because of their cute looks and playful temperaments. Puggles are usually fairly small, though they can weigh from 12 to 30 lbs.

History

Puggles came to be when dog breeders started crossbreeding in the 1980s, and the puggles in particular have become increasingly popular within the past few years.

Temperament

Puggles are social, fun loving, playful pets that do great in households with other animals. They are great with children as well as seniors.

Training

Puggles can be stubborn at times, but they are an intelligent breed who are motivated by repetition, along with receiving treats for doing good deeds.

Shedding

Puggles shed a small amount of hair, but it is pretty reasonable considering their small size. Brush them once a week to get rid of any loose hair.

Barking

Like all dogs, puggles will bark at times. To avoid howling, keep a stuffed animal near their resting area to help comfort them--especially as puppies.

Lifespan

Puggles have an average life expectancy of 10 to 15 years, with most living to be around 15.
