Different Anime Eyes
"It's all in the eyes" is a common term, but it applies to the characters in anime and manga. The eyes play a huge part in determining the type of character. The way they are drawn reflect the personality and mood of the character, be they heroes, villains, bishies or chibis.

Heroes
-
The eyes of anime heroes are larger than their villainous counterparts. They are highlighted with large irises and pupils, drawn with concentric circles and rounded eyebrows.
Evil
-
Villains' eyes are usually drawn very narrow, with the eyebrows and borders drawn with straight lines. The pupils are small with sharp colors for the irises or they might be completely black.
-
Innocence
-
Shouju characters, the name for the innocent, charming characters, have the largest eyes. The irises and pupils take up almost all of the eye with deep colors of green or blue.
Animals
-
Animals often have eyes in one solid color. Many animal characters might only have small dots for eyes.
Mood
-
A character's eyes can change appearance depending on the mood. Rounded eyes represent happiness, very large eyes help characters look sad or adorable, and narrow eyes show anger.
