Hospital Volunteer Duties

A hospital volunteer is often known as a candy striper. Hospitals have a minimum age for candy stripers due to the duties that a volunteer performs. The volunteer may lift heavy objects or perform clerical and administrative duties. Pursuing a job as a candy striper also teaches adolescents about the job application process. For older adults, it is a way to give back to the community while also staying productive.
