- With more than 5,000 rooms and about 750 suites, the MGM Grand Las Vegas is the largest hotel in the United States and the second largest hotel in the world.
- MGM Grand's dining options range from Craftsteak and Nobill to the Rainforest Cafe and the MGM Grand Buffet. Nightclubs include Studio 54 and Tabu.
- The resort originally featured a Wizard of Oz theme and a children's theme park. While still family-friendly, the MGM Grand has since remodeled in favor of a more modern atmosphere.
- From 1995 to 2002, MGM Grand Las Vegas was home to the musical production, EFX. Headliners included David Cassidy, Tommy Tune and Rick Springfield.
- The original MGM Grand was built in the 1970s. The resort caught fire on Nov. 21, 1980 when faulty wiring near one of its restaurants began to burn. More than 80 people died in the fire, and the tragedy helped to improve building codes in Las Vegas.
