Casino Cashier Job Description

If you are a bean counter with a personality, the job of casino cashier is for you. A casino cashier is the hub for the financial transactions at the casino. In order to do this job, you must have a gaming license.

  1. Function

    • The cashiers cash out tickets, cash in chips and make change.

    Balancing

    • The cashier must reconcile the window at the end of the shift. This requires keeping accurate records of transactions.

    Drops

    • The cashier's responsibility includes accounting for the casino cash drops as well as customer transactions.

    Personality

    • The cashier is one of the faces of the casino. Good people skills are necessary.

    Credit

    • The cashier knows how to do transactions involving casino credit lines, credit card withdrawals and debit card withdrawals, and she understands the possible reasons for declines so she can explain them to guests.

    Check Cashing

    • The cashier understands and utilizes the check-verification services used and cashes checks.
