Signs & Symptoms of Anaphylactic Shock
Anaphylactic shock occurs when an individual is exposed to something that their immune system perceives as an allergen. It is the severest form of an allergic reaction. This condition can be triggered by substances such as insect venom, peanuts, latex and some medications. An individual who goes into anaphylactic shock needs to be immediately taken to the emergency room where he/she can receive a shot of epinephrine. Without treatment, death can result.

Anaphylactic shock can occur in as little as a few minutes or up to about 30 minutes following exposure to some type of allergen.
Breathing Difficulties

This severe allergic reaction may cause the tongue to swell and the airways to tighten, resulting in great difficulty breathing.

Individuals experiencing anaphylactic shock may break out into itchy hives. Their skin may appear flushed or pale.
Pulse Changes

The pulse may either become extremely slow or extremely rapid.
Stomach Symptoms

The affected individual may feel nausea. He/she may also experience diarrhea or vomiting.
Other Symptoms
