You can buy Christmas gifts for teachers from catalogs or at stores, but a handmade Christmas gift is a more affordable and personal way of showing your appreciation for teachers' hard work and effort in the classroom.

    Candy Jar

  1. Purchase an inexpensive dish suitable for candy. Line the dish with holiday tissue paper and fill it with miniature candy bars.
  2. Gift Mug

  3. Fill a large coffee mug with two or three single-serving packages of instant hot chocolate, coffee or tea. Wrap the mug with cellophane and tie it closed using a festive holiday ribbon or bow.
  4. Cookies in a Jar

  5. Fill a canning jar with the measured, dry ingredients of your favorite cookie or brownie recipe. Attach the recipe listing the measurements of the liquid ingredients and the baking instructions. Decorate the lid of the jar with a holiday ribbon.
  6. Keepsake Ornament

  7. Purchase a large red or green ball ornament. Decorate it with your child's name and the year using stickers from the scrapbook-supply department of a store.
  8. Snacks in a Jar

  9. Fill canning jars with snacks such as mixed nuts, pretzels or Chex Mix. Cover the lid with a piece of inexpensive holiday fabric. Secure the fabric by screwing the ring onto the lid.
