Ideas to Decorate a Summer Shirt
Everyone makes tie-dyed shirts in the summer, but if you think outside of the box you can create an awesome summer shirt.
-
Sugar
-
Take a shirt outside and cover it in different amounts of sugar. Put dye in a spray bottle and drench the shirt. After the shirt is totally dry, dip it in cold water to remove the sugar.
Glue
-
Put washable glue into a dish and use a paintbrush to paint designs onto the shirt. When dry, flip the shirt and paint on the other side. After it dries, spray dye onto both sides of the shirt and allow it to dry overnight before washing it in cold water.
-
Crayons
-
Write what you love about summer on a shirt with fabric crayons. Use bright, summer colors such as lime green, yellow and orange. Add playful doodles for a shirt that celebrates what summer is all about.
Bleach pen
-
Use bleach pens to create a summer masterpiece on a colored shirt. Ice cream, sunshine and surf boards can be recreated easily.
Considerations
-
Make sure you set aside plenty of time and space for crafting your shirt. Most dyes need to set over night and most need to set before being washed.
