Attractions in Guadalajara, Spain

Planning a trip to Spain generally revolves around larger cities like Madrid and Barcelona. However, when you go off the beaten path you will discover hidden treasures such as Guadalajara.

  1. Sea of Castille

    • The Sea of Castille is a lake district that is home to two man-made lakes, Embalse de Entreenas and Embalse de Buendia. This district is a popular retreat for British tourists because of its waterside and shops.

    Capilla Mayor

    • The Capilla Mayor is a cathedral with the Retablo by Giraldo de Merlo in 1619. It also contains tombs for two popular bishops.

    Jardin de La Casa de Panos

    • This garden is found around an old factory in Guadalajara. It extends as an arcade of cypresses into the town's square.

    Convento de la Piedad

    • The Convento de la Piedad is a convent dating back to 1530 that is now an institute. It is popular for its interior architecture, including its Plateresque doorway and double arcade.

    San Gines

    • The Church of San Gines dates to 1557 and contains the tombs of the Infantando and Tendillo families. The beliefs of this church go back to the 16th century.
