What to Expect at 2 Weeks of Pregnancy

There might be little to notice at only two weeks of pregnancy, but some women are so in tune with their bodies that they will notice differences this early. Others will experience signs of pregnancy and might not attribute it to a pregnancy. But there are signs and symptoms on what to expect.

  1. Spotting

    • Spotting occurs when the fertilized egg implants into the uterus. It is also known as implantation bleeding. It is nothing to worry about, and many women confuse it with spotting between periods.

    Nausea

    • Nausea can begin as early as two weeks of pregnancy because the woman's hormones are hard at work. It might present itself like morning sickness or more as an aversion to some foods.

    Fatigue

    • Fatigue might set in early in a pregnancy. Women tend to notice it after a long day or find they are still tired after sleeping what is a normal length for them. This is also because of the increased hormones in the body.

    Cramps

    • Many women assume cramps during the second week of pregnancy are because of their impending period. But these cramps might occur during implantation and any time after.

    Breasts

    • A woman's breasts might begin to ache slightly, and they might get just a little larger in the first two weeks of pregnancy. Again, this is because of the hormonal change and might be confused with an impending period.

    Doctor

    • At two weeks of pregnancy, a doctor might try to give a urine or blood test, but it might still be too early to tell if a woman is pregnant. The doctor will likely want to see the woman closer to three or four weeks pregnant.
