Different Short Hair Styles

Short hair styles can be very elegant, sassy and sexy. The ease of the styles is the main draw for some women. Even if short styles can be really cute, not all styles fit every woman. The trick to finding the right short style is finding one that fits your facial shape.

Round Face Shapes

A cut that falls below the chin, with gradual layers, helps to eliminate the roundness of the face. If you have a round face, you should stay away from really short, curly styles and blunt cuts.

Square Face Shapes

To play down the strong, angular jaw line of the square-shaped face, curls and choppy ends work great. Try a really short and spiky cut and avoid one-length bobs.

Oval Face Shape

Oval face shapes can pull off any look but look better with an angular bob with blunt bangs. Even if you can pull it off, stay away from short layers, since they add height to any face shape.

Long Face Shape

Stay away from cuts that add length to the face, such as super-short, skull-hugging cuts. Try a cut that adds width to the face, such as a chin-length bob with bangs.

Heart Face Shape

Short hair should draw attention to the eyes and cheeks and away from the pointy chin. The best short style for a heart-shaped face is one that falls below the jawline or a brow-gazing fringe.
