    • The lowest-paid 10 percent of chiropractors received an annual salary of about $32,380, while the highest-paid 10 percent earned $159,640 in 2008.

    Largest Employers

    • Some of the largest employers of chiropractors in May 2008 were general hospitals and local government, in which chiropractors averaged an annual salary of $67,780 and $67,620, respectively.

    Highest-Paying Employers

    • In 2008, the highest-paying employers of chiropractors were dentist's offices, physician's offices, colleges and universities, offices of chiropractors and other health practitioners, and outpatient-care centers. Chiropractors working in these environments averaged between $80,530 and $106,050 annually.

    Highest-Paying Areas

    • In May 2008, the states with the highest-paid chiropractors were Alabama, Nevada, Tennessee, Kentucky and Ohio, where workers received an average income of between $107,150 and $126,950 annually.
