Despite what you may have heard, some table scraps are good for cats. Everyone needs fresh food, cats included. Just make sure your leftovers don't contain onion, which can cause Heinz Body Anemia in cats. Here are some "people foods" that are safe for cats to eat.

Raw or Cooked Beef, Chicken and Turkey

I have been working at a vets office for 4 years now, and I can tell you milk is NOT good for your cats. In the long-run milk can cause urinary crystals and bladder obstructions. Grapes, raisins, onions, and garlic, and chocolate are toxic for cats because they damage the kidneys. Dry food for any animal tends to be better for cats and dogs because it contains less fat then wet food as well as the fact that dry food helps preventing plaque/tartar build up on teeth, which can eventually lead to tooth decay (which means dental cleaning and extractions for your pet). The reason cooked bones are not recommended is because a lot of people boil them in salt and other added spices as well as the fact that cats and dogs have a tendency to swallow small bones causing it to become lodged in the intestines (I have seen many cases of this) and can chip, crack or break teeth which will have to be extracted because infection will occur. Cure for diarrhea in dogs is cooke white rice with a little bit of cottage cheese. However, any animal with diarrhea should be seen by their regular vet because it causes severe dehydration, so they will need a fluid replenishment. There is also a wet food called gastro formula (by royal canine/medical) for both cats and dogs that help in stopping diarrhea and can b purchased from most veterinarinarian.

I got my 7 yr old pug last November and even though I transitioned her to wet food (because I believe it's more nutritionally sound than dry) slowly, she continued having loose stools. What worked for me is adding a teaspoon of canned pumpkin to her two meals, then only to her nightly meal for maintenance. Might work for your cat.

my cat eats grapes and he's fine. also, he eats cucumber, bananas, apples, potato chips, and some other things I can't think of right now. is there any human foods that can help to cure feline diarrhea? my cat has had it since we got her and we haven't been able to take her to the vet.
