How can a Church Member Stay Faithful?

Jesus referred to living a Christian life as taking the narrow path. With the wider path proving so much easier to follow, how can you remain a faithful church member?

  1. Prayer

    • It's impossible to remain faithful without spending time in prayer. Conversation with God is vital to your walk. According to Genesis 2-3, man was created in God's image to have fellowship with Him. Consider sitting by yourself during lunch and use that time to talk to God.

    Bible Study

    • The Bible helps you maintain righteousness as told in 2 Tim. 3:16. Remaining faithful means studying the Bible. Try finding a good concordance allows you to search specific topics in the Bible.

    Tithing

    • While it's debatable if the Bible actually demands a 10 percent tithe to your church, supporting your church financially is crucial to remaining faithful. Whatever percentage you decide on, try to set aside part of your income to help your church in it's day-to-day activities.

    Accountability Partner

    • Find another church member of the same sex to serve as your accountability partner.
Discuss trouble areas with your partner and exchange prayer requests.

    Volunteer Time

    • The gift of time might be the best gift you could give to your church. Consider teaching a class, holding a small group, or even mowing the lawn. Especially for a small church low on manpower, offering your time to help with even the small tasks says a lot about your commitment to God and your church.

    Christian Music

    • Rather than filling your head with worldly ideals, tune your radio to a station that plays uplifting Christian music. Since music can prove a spiritual experience, spend your driving time worshiping God in song.
