The Best Photoshop Effects

Photoshop has the ability to transform a blank canvas into a jaw-dropping work of art. Photoshop's arsenal of tools, effects and filters empower artists to create the most creative designs. The best effects are those that awe and inspire the onlooker.

  1. Selective Sepia

    • Sepia effect

This dynamic effect is when the color is desaturated from a photo, replaced by a brownish tint. Selective sepia is when an isolated element in the photo remains in color, leaving the rest in sepia.

    Tilt Shift

    • Tilt shift takes a full size image and makes it appear miniature. Although tilt shift is traditionally achieved through photography, Photoshop can also create a believable fake.

    Pop Art

    • Warhol effect

Also known as silkscreen, Andy Warhol's iconic pop art is easily duplicated in Photoshop. This effect commonly transforms a simple portrait into four duplicates in different color hues.

    Bokeh

    • Bokeh effect in the background.

Bokeh is the fuzzy, out-of-focus area in a photograph. A digital bokeh effect is created with a translucent brush and a gradient.

    Out of Bounds

    • Out of bounds.

This effect displays an image that in some way exits out of its boundaries. It's done with layers and the ability to cut out an object from its background.
