C.N. Ray built a fiberglass runabout in his small garage in Detroit in 1959. Fifty years later, Sea Ray has become one of the largest manufactures of pleasure boats in the world.

  1. Pioneer

    • From the beginning, Sea Ray was a pioneer of using fiberglass and other new materials in its boat-building process.

    Brunswick Corp.

    • Sea Ray became a subsidiary of the Brunswick Corp. in 1986. With the addition of Sea Ray, Brunswick became the leader in boat and marine engine manufacturing.

    Quality

    • Sea Ray's reputation is based on the quality of its product. It is regarded as the "Cadillac" of boats. Its boats exceed the standards set by the National Marine Manufacturers Association, American Boat and Yacht Council, and the United States Coast Guard.

    Models

    • The company offers 40 models ranging from 17 to 60 feet. Those 40 models are broken into four families: sport boats, sport cruisers, sport yachts and yachts.

    Achievements

    • Sea Ray is certified as being compliant with the strict International Organization of Standards 9002 standards, becoming the first pleasure boat company to meet the standards.
