Maternity pants come in various lengths and sizes to accommodate both a woman's pre-pregnancy size as well as her expanding uterus. Typically, the pants size a woman is prior to pregnancy is the size she'll fit during pregnancy, with the exception of a special panel for belly room. Pant legs are created to fit the same. Today's maternity pants are meant to add comfort without losing style.

    Familiar Materials

  1. Maternity pants come in cotton, denim and other materials that non-maternity clothing is composed of. They are created to reflect current fashion trends.
  2. Sized Right

  3. Cuts range in petite, regular and tall lengths, with numeric sizes, as well as small, medium, and large and even plus sizes to suit any pregnant woman's needs.
  4. Modifications

  5. Maternity pants may have elastic built into the sides or back of them, a drawstring to cinch the pants around a protruding tummy or a panel made of a stretchy material for comfort.
  6. Comfort Levels

  7. Low rise, mid rise, full panel, roll panel and real waist are various levels that describe where the top of the maternity pants hits along a pregnant belly.
  8. In Style

  9. Maternity pants styles come in trouser fit, skinny, straight-leg, classic, flare, bell, wide-leg and boot cut. They are intended to flatter and celebrate the curves of a pregnant woman.
