Digimon Collectible Card Game Rules
The Digimon Collectible Card Game is similar in style to Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh and other games involving collectible cards of battle monsters. The object is to place "Digimon" monsters on the field of play and evolve their strength in order to battle the opponent's Digimon monsters.
-
Cards
-
There are four types of cards in the game. Digimon cards are the "monsters" used in the game. Digivolve cards increase the level of the monster. Digidestined cards modify the attack/defense. Digimodify cards have special effects that can be played at different times.
Drawing Cards
-
Each player draws five cads to start the game. The players' decks are placed on the "Online" section of their playing mat. They draw two cards at the start of each turn. Cards that are used and discarded are placed in the "Offline" area.
-
Bring Online Phase
-
After drawing cards to start the turn, a player can place Rookie Digimon cards into the Digivolving row of the game mat. You can play up to two Rookie cards in one turn but cannot have more than four on the mat at the same time.
Digivolving and Moving
-
Players can "Digivolve" up to two Digimon on a turn by replacing their cards with a next level card. Rookies evolve into Champions, Champions to Ultimates and Ultimates to Megas. You can then move Digimon from the Digivolve row to the Attack row or vice versa.
Battle
-
A Digimon in the Attack row can attack any opponent's Digimon in the Attack row. The attacker's attack points are compared with the defender's defense points; whichever number is higher wins the battle and destroys the other monster. If the defense has no Digimon in play, the attacker can attack directly.
Scoring Data Points
-
The winner of the attack gets data points equal to the difference between the winning and losing attack/defense points (or the attacker's full points if attacked directly). The first player to 7,500 points wins the game.
