No Credit Check Wireless Plans
Not everyone has good enough credit to get a cell phone plan without putting down a sizable deposit. Realizing this, many cell phone carriers that offer contract plans have also started offering plans that don't require credit checks, which has opened their businesses to a new customer base.

Paying
-
The easiest way to pay for these plans is to purchase a top-off card, which is sold at most retailers--including convenience stores. These cards work like a pre-paid long-distance card, where the user enters a PIN into his phone and the money is added automatically to his account. Some companies also allow users to pay by using a debit card.
Pay by the Day
-
Companies such as T-Mobile and AT&T Wireless have started offering plans where users pay for service only on the days they use the phone. These plans vary in price, and some include free mobile-to-mobile calls and free nights and weekends.
-
Pay as You Go
-
Pay as you go is a more expensive option--preferable for those who rarely use their phone. Rates vary.
Unlimited Monthly
-
Some companies--namely Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile--have started offering monthly plans without contracts. These plans are still pre-paid. Virgin's plan includes unlimited calling but charges extra for additional features. For about the same price, Boost offers unlimited calls, text and mobile Internet service.
Coverage
-
Pre-paid and pay-as-you-go cell phone plans operate on the same nationwide networks as contract plans do.
Other Features
-
For an additional charge--either per unit or by the month--most carriers offer customers access to mobile Internet, text messaging and other features enjoyed by contract customers.
