Olive leaf extract comes from the leaves of the olive tree, which grows in abundance in Mediterranean countries. One of the primary components of olive leaf extract is a phytochemical called oleuropein. Olive leaf extract is known to be non-toxic and safe for animals as well as humans.

  3. Olive leaf extract is known to be very effective against most viruses, including HIV, herpes, and influenza. It is believed that the extract inhibits the virus's ability to reproduce itself in the body.
  4. Antibacterial properties

  5. Olive leaf extract has also been shown to be effective against many forms of bacteria. It can be used for chronic infections, sinusitis, sore throat and rashes caused by both bacteria and fungii.
  6. Systemic Conditions

  7. Olive leaf extract may be able to help with the symptoms of inflammatory arthritis, chronic fatigue syndrome, diarrhea and psoriasis. It can also help the digestive tract purge itself of some parasites.

  9. Olive leaf has shown potential for lowering blood pressure. People who take coumadin should not take olive leaf extract due to the fact that it dilates the blood vessels and can cause excessive bleeding.
