Retail Position Description

There are many retail positions open for anyone interested in working in a retail store or supermarket. The jobs range from cashiers to managers. Retail positions exist to help customers make purchases quickly and easily.

  1. Cashier

    • The cashier checks out the merchandise that a person wants. They tally up the purchases, accept money or credit cards, give change and put the items in a bag.

    Salespeople

    • Salespeople ascertain what the customer wants and help them find it by directing them to the item or section where they can find the item.

    Stocker

    • A stocker makes sure the shelves have plenty of merchandise on them. He may also help unload the trucks that bring the merchandise to the store.

    Customer Service

    • The people who work in customer service handle returns and exchanges. They also handle any complaints the customer may have.

    Retail Manager

    • The retail manager overlooks all aspects of the retail store. He handles problems from the staff as well as from customers that other staff members can't handle.
