- If she chooses to keep her baby, she may need emotional, financial and physical assistance. Having a partner or parent who is able to assist will be a great asset.
- If she chooses to go through with adoption, she can meet with adoption counselors, help pick out a good family for her baby and even stay in touch as her child grows.
- If she chooses to have an abortion, she will need counseling and support before and after the procedure. Abortion is safer the earlier it is done.
- Teenage mothers who plan to keep their babies may change their mind suddenly if something unexpected or traumatic occurs. In this case, she can drop her baby off in most states at a police station, hospital, clinic or other locations.
- Pregnant teens can consult pregnancy hotlines, pregnancy crisis centers or family planning clinics for assistance in decision-making and support.
