In the game of soccer, players have different duties and use different skills. Depending on position, each person on the soccer field has a unique job description.

  1. Forwards

    • Forwards play up in the front of their team's formation toward the opponent's goal. They are the main scorers for the team and can also be known as strikers.

    Midfielders

    • Midfielders play between the forwards and the defenders. They play both sides of the field. Midfielders attack and help the offense in scoring and also move back to help the defense thwart goal attempts by the opposition.

    Sweeper

    • A sweeper is a defender who plays behind the other defenders closest to the goal. He is positioned as the last player before the goalkeeper.

    Goalkeeper
