Experience

With less than a year of experience, a stockbroker may earn a median salary of $38,194 per year. After 20 or more years, that wage may increase to $118,644 annually.

Employer

If an individual stockbroker is working for a company, he may expect to make a median wage of $45,522 yearly. If he is self-employed, however, he could see that salary rise to $98,264.

Location

Working in Indiana might bring in a median annual salary of $35,230. If a stockbroker is employed in New York, however, that salary can be boosted to $91,435 per year.

Degree

If a stockbroker has a bachelor's degree in economics, he can expect a median annual wage of approximately $34,392. With a master's in business administration, though, he could earn roughly $55,000 per year.

Gender

Gender can make a difference in a stockbroker's earnings. Males tend to earn around $44,749 as a median salary, while women earn approximately $38,660 annually.
