Camera Photo Effects
While special effects have traditionally been applied to images during reproduction, today's digital cameras allow photographers to use special photo effects right on the camera, during shooting. Modern cameras offer many camera photo effects to choose from, each with a different result.
-
Red-Eye Removal
-
Camera flashes can cause an unsightly red glare in people's eyes, but many digital cameras offer automatic red-eye removal to clean up the final image.
Selective Focus
-
According to "Shutter Bug" magazine, selective focus is "a great way to play down a distracting background." Selective focus zeros in on one specific object for sharp focus, blurring the rest of the frame.
-
Black and White
-
While traditional cameras required special film to product artsy black-and-white prints, digital cameras allow you to turn on and off black-and-white imaging.
Diffusion
-
Traditionally obtainable through attachable lens filters, diffusion is now offered as an onboard effect on some digital cameras. Diffusion scatters harsh light sources, softening the photograph. This effect is sometimes also called "soft focus."
Saturation and Hue
-
Rather than controlling exposure ratios for different color saturation and hues, contemporary cameras allow users to directly adjust these values during or after a shoot for dramatic color effects.
