Traveling with your personal care items gives you a taste of home, even if you're in a foreign country or crashing on a college friend's couch. Considering where to pack your curling iron doesn't need to add stress as you scramble to get your luggage together before you catch your flight. Traveling with this item, in most cases, isn't as regulated as you might think.
Checked or Carry-On
The Transportation Security Administration allows you to keep your curling iron in your carry-on bag or your checked luggage, provided the item is corded. If you have a cordless curling iron powered with a butane cartridge, you must carry this item in your checked luggage. You must also place the iron's safety cover over its heating element, and you're prohibited from traveling with spare cartridges.
