A Description of the Reiki IV Class
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that's believed to promote physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. Reiki training consists of four distinct levels (or training stages), and certificates are generally given out after a student has completed each level.

Significance
-
Anyone who trusts in the Reiki theory and the Universal Life Energy can begin the process of attunement. According to the International Center for Reiki Training, "The Reiki attunement is a powerful spiritual experience. The attunement energies are channeled into the student through the Reiki Master. The process is guided by the Rei or God-consciousness and makes adjustments in the process depending on the needs of each student." Attunement can be looked at as a way of fine-tuning the body, so it's aligned spiritually.
Types
-
Level I of Reiki training is an introduction to the practice, where students learn the fundamentals of Reiki and hand placement positions and receive four attunements from their teacher to become a basic practitioner. During Level II, students are given an additional attunement and learn Reiki symbols. Level III is the Advanced Reiki Training (or the Practitioner Level), and the highest, Level IV, is where students become a Reiki Master/Teacher.
-
Features
-
During Reiki IV classes (Reiki Master/Teacher), students train to convey the Reiki's gift to others and learn methods of teaching Reiki. They may also be required to serve as an apprentice under another Reiki Master.
Identification
-
According to The Reiki School & Clinic, at Reiki Master/Teacher classes, you receive additional energy attunements and spiritual cleansing and healing, learn to do and give attunements, are given the opportunity to lead, and receive one-on-one mentoring, business development/assistance and a certificate of completion.
Considerations
-
Although there is no official organization or program that oversees the governing of Reiki licenses to practitioners, students can take Reiki IV classes at a workshop, class, or online. There are a variety of distance learning classes and certification programs available; depending on the program or institution, students may or may not be required to complete Reiki levels I to III prior to enrolling in Reiki Level IV.
