A radiologist is a medical doctor whose specialty is reading images, and diagnosing and treating patients based on those images. He might not only diagnose but can create treatment plans or even do minimal surgery on a patient. All salaries listed are median salaries and are as of July 2009.

    Experience

  1. A radiologist with less than one year of experience can expect to earn roughly $100,000 as a median yearly salary. On the other hand, with more than 20 years of experience, that salary might increase to $291,727.
  2. Employer

  3. Working for the state government can mean a salary of around $90,000 annually. A nonprofit organization might be able to offer a median salary of $300,000.
  4. Location

  5. Working in Florida could earn a radiologist a median salary of $120,000. If he works in Massachusetts, that salary might rise to $294,789 per year.
  6. Gender

  7. Gender can possibly make a difference in a radiologist's salary. Males often make a median wage of $255,851, while females earn a median salary of around $200,000.
  8. Degree

  9. A degree in radiology could earn an annual median salary of $196,527. With a medical doctor degree, the salary can increase to $325,000 per year.
