Common Foods in Spain

Spain has a diverse culture offering signature dishes that represent dozens of regions. However, there are a few quintessential dishes that no trip to Spain would be complete without sampling.

  1. Tapas

    Gazpacho

      Gazpacho is a well-loved tomato-based soup that blends peppers, cucumbers, garlic, olive oil and vinegar. Served cold, gazpacho is a summertime favorite in Spain and worldwide.

    Paella

      The mainstay of Spanish cuisine is paella. An amalgamation of various ingredients cooked together in a large pan, it is traditionally made with shellfish, but can be prepared to accommodate any taste.

    Tortilla Española

      Served at breakfast, lunch or dinner, the tortilla española resembles the omelet or the frittata. Typcially made of eggs and fried potatoes, it can also include meats, vegetables and cheeses.

    Sangria

    Flan
