Wedding Thank You Notes Ideas
Here's how to write top-notch thank you notes for your wedding gifts in a timely fashion.
Keep Track of the Gifts
-
Choose a method for tracking the gifts received and who sent them---an Excel spreadsheet or simply a handwritten listing will do. List them in the order in which they were received, so as to send them out as swiftly as possible.
Make It Fun
-
Don't slave away in silence. Pour a glass of champagne, put on some fun music and make it more entertaining. Don't strive to do them all at one sitting, either---five to 10 per evening will ensure you get it done swiftly.
Get Started
-
Thank them for the specific gift, and describe how excited you are to use or display it. For cash gifts, explain how you plan to use it---toward a fabulous time on your honeymoon or a down payment on a home.
Deal With the Tough Ones
-
If the gift wasn't to your taste, don't lie, simply compliment their thoughtfulness.
Send Them Out in a Timely Manner
-
Thank-yous for gifts received before the wedding should be sent out within a week of receipt; for gifts received at the wedding, two months is the limit in which to thank them properly.
Tip
-
Send thank-yous for cash gifts as soon as possible, so guests don't have to worry that their cards went awry at the reception.
