Circular knitting allows a knitter to make things that are round. It is seamless knitting because it is knit in a continuous circle. Due to the nature of knitting, the rows stay level, and do not look like a spiral or need a special joining stitch on every round the way items crocheted in the round can need.

    Needles

  1. Circular knitting is done either on circular needles, which are two needles joined by a cable of a certain length that holds the knitting, or on sets of double-pointed needles.
  2. Seamless

  3. Circular knitting is good for creating seamless items, because they are knit in a continuous circle that does not need to be sewn together.
  4. Projects

  5. Circular knitting is used for items like hats, socks, bags and seamless garments.
  6. Magic Loop

  7. The magic loop technique involves using a large circular needle for a small project and holding the excess cable to the side.
  8. Two Circular Needles

  9. Small projects are also sometimes done on two circular needles, where the project is knit from one needle to the other on alternating rows.
