Though similar theme parks now grace Florida, Asia and Europe, Disneyland still attracts its share of tourists who want to experience Walt Disney's original dream. A sister theme park, Disney's California Adventure, three hotels and a shopping district offer additional options for visitors who linger for a few days.

  1. Cost

    • (REFERENCE 1) You'll need a minimum of two days to do justice to the entire Disneyland Resort. Two-day Park Hopper tickets cost $143 for adults and $123 for kids as of July 2009. Check Disneyland's website for other ticket options and to confirm current pricing.

    FASTPASS

    • Minimize your wait time by using FASTPASS, which specifies a time for you to board the ride. You can then enjoy the rest of the park before returning at your appointed time.

    Height

    • (REFERENCE 2) Many Disney rides have height restrictions. To avoid disappointing the young ones, check on these limits at disneyland.disney.go.com.

    Security

    • Expect to reveal the contents of any bags or pockets to security attendants as you arrive at the entry plaza. This is before you even line up to buy tickets.

    Food

    • (REFERENCE 3) Except for special food required by dietary restrictions, external food and drink are officially not allowed in the park. However, security attendants won't mind if you sneak in a sandwich or two to save money. However, do not bring in glass bottles or alcohol.
