If you're planning a Scooby Doo birthday party, then you're in luck. Scooby and his pals have some wild adventures in the Mystery Mobile that make for great cake decorating ideas. Try your hand at using rolled fondant, print an edible picture, bake a molded cake or use toys to top a creepy haunted castle cake.

    The Mystery Mobile

  1. Bake your cake in a bread loaf pan for a small Mystery Mobile, or stack three halved portions of a 9-inch by 9-inch square cake to make a 3-D rectangular shape for the van. Use green rolled fondant or frosting to cover it. Use fruit leather to create the floral appliques and more fondant for the windows and tires.
  2. A Scary Castle Adventure

  3. Bake a standard two-layer cake and cover it with dark frosting and a castle cake topper. Add a Scooby Doo figurine, hiding behind a tree munching on a gummy pizza candy.
  4. Edible Photo Cake

  5. With edible photo ink and paper, you can print pictures of Scooby Doo from the Scooby Doo website or copy a photo of your child with Scooby Doo. you can even use a desktop publishing program to create Scooby Doo cake decor and use it to cover your cake.
  6. Scooby Doo Shaped Cake

  7. Wilton makes a molded Scooby Doo cake pan that you can use to make a Scooby Doo cake. It comes with decorating instructions and has grooves and ridges built into the mold so that you don't have to be artistic; it's like painting by number.
  8. Scooby Doo Candy Cake

  9. Use a line drawing of Scooby Doo as your guide and trace the outline into a plain frosted cake. Then, instead of using colored frosting to finish decorating, press M&M's into the frosting. You can have a shimmery delicious candy covered cake with a picture of Scooby Doo on top.
