Yogurt is a popular diet aid not because it's fat free or fruity, but because it's so good for you.

    Benefits

  1. Yogurt fills you up, offers a great source of calcium, and can be low fat as well as diet friendly.
  2. Speculation

  3. Most yogurt products contain live and active cultures that many recent studies have shown may help regulate and stabilize digestion after continuous use.
  4. Filling up With Protein

  5. Most light yogurts provide at least 2 g (Yoplait light has 5 g) of protein to help keep you satisfied throughout the day.
  6. Misconceptions

  7. Many people think all yogurt is created equal, but many yogurts, especially ones that aren't labeled "light" or "fat free" may be loaded with extra calories and fat you don't need.
  8. Flavorful Options

  9. Consider combining yogurt, orange juice, frozen fruit and a protein powder along with a little ice in a blender for a fantastic breakfast that will hold you through your workout and/or into lunch.
