Food is an important aspect of any wedding reception. Whether a buffet or a sit-down dinner, food catering for a wedding takes a lot of planning. The bride and groom must decide what their guests are going to eat for all of their courses, how everything is going to be served, and what the wedding cake is going to look like. There are a lot of decisions to be made regarding catering.

    Cocktail Hour

  1. Many cocktail hours feature an open bar as well as passed hors d'ouevres. It is up to the discretion of the host as to what is featured during the cocktail hour.
  2. Buffet

  3. Buffets consist of a variety of options that are presented to the guests on the serving tables. There are usually two parts to the buffet: dinner and dessert.
  4. Plated Meal

  5. A plated meal is when guests sit down and are served by waiters and waitresses. Courses can include appetizer, salad, entree, and dessert. Other courses are added for fancier weddings.
  6. Food Choices

  7. The bride and groom select the food choices before the wedding at their tasting with the caterer. It is a good idea to include one vegetarian choice for guests that do not eat red meat.
  8. Gratuities

  9. It is common practice for a bride and groom to give a large tip to the host, a medium tip to the bartender, and smaller tips to the wait staff.
