Water is an essential part of dieting and being healthy. In fact, without drinking the right amount of water you risk the dreaded dieting plateau so many have experienced before.

    How it Helps

  1. Drinking plenty of water helps you stay satiated throughout the day. It also helps clean toxins out of your body, and that helps you feel fresh and energized.
  2. How Much

  3. At least eight, 8 oz. glasses of water should be consumed every day. However it's suggested by the Institute of Medicine that active men drink 13 cups a day and women consume at least nine.
  4. Speculation

  5. Many people think that drinking too much water leads to weight gain. Water weight gain is possible for reasons like using birth control or an increase in soduim, but not because of drinking too much water.
  6. Alternatives

  7. Flavoring water with a calorie-free mix like Life Water and Crystal Light is an alternative to plain water.
  8. Dieting Bonuses

  9. Drinking cold water helps you burn calories because your body works harder to warm the water up to your body temperature.
