Prom-goers typically coordinate their prom flowers with the color scheme of their outfits. Tradition has it that girls buy their date a boutonniere with one or two blooms and guys purchase a bouquet or a wrist corsage for their escort.

    Roses

  1. Since roses signify love, this flower is very fitting for couples who have been together for a while or for a boy that wishes to show his date that he really likes her. Roses can be found in almost any color.
  2. Carnations

  3. Carnations have long been a very popular flower for ladies' wrist corsages and gentlemen's boutonnieres. Because the flower has large blooms, it nicely fills out corsages and gives off a strong scent.
  4. Calla Lilies

  5. The calla lily is a sophisticated looking, understated flower that goes well with a dress that has clean lines and few frills. It is available in many different colors, making it relatively easy to match with a date's dress or tux.
  6. Silk

  7. Silk flowers in all styles are a favorite because they are less expensive than real ones and make a great keepsake. Silk flowers can be obtained in any color, and bouquet styles are endless.
  8. Freesia

  9. Freesia is an age-appropriate choice since the flower signifies innocence and can be found in such delicate colors as white, lavender and pink, making it a perfect match for many of today's popular prom dresses.
